Static screen is corresponding to the scanning screen. Static screen refers to the screen that will simultaneously turn on the lights upon display when LED displays show the texts, images and video files; it’s not like the scanning screen, which makes use of the persistence of vision of human eyes to turn on all lines of LED displays within the short time period. It’s known to all that LED displays are driven by duty ratio, so the display brightness is much related to the time period of illumination. For this account, static screen is brighter than the scanning screen under conditions of same luminotron brightness, so static screen is usually used in the outdoors situations for high brightness display requirement, while scanning screen is usually used in the indoors situation with lower brightness display requirement to save the driving cost. But with the constantly matured technologies of LED materials, the brightness of LED luminotron is being improved constantly. At present, there are also LED displays used outdoors that are made by scanning process to save cost. Of course, the requirement for scanning screens used outdoors is higher for the control and driving sections, and the requirements for the performances of driver chips are also extraordinary.
